Does it hurt ?
Everyone has a different pain threshold but the common comparison is that of being flicked by an elastic band. If you prefer you could use a numbing cream prior to treatment. Numbing creams are available from most chemists and they will advise you on the products available.
How many treatments will I require ?
This is a very difficult question to answer as it depends on many factors;
– what type of ink was used
– how deep the ink is
– your immune system
– the different colours of ink etc
A black ink tattoo should require less treatments than a pale blue / pale green tattoo.
There should be some serious fading of the tattoo after just 2 treatments.
Why do you have to wait 6 weeks for another treatment ?
This time period gives the skin time to recover from the high intensity treatment it has experienced, whilst also allowing the main fading of the tattoo to occur, which is normally around weeks 3-6.
Is there a risk of scarring ?
There is minimal risk of scarring with the new Q switched lasers we use, and when operated by our trained technician the risks are reduced even further.
